The itinerary described progresses along the Monti Sibillini National Park’s official path, the "E10 Anello del Monte Sibilla". From the small town of Montemonaco located at about 1.000m above sea level, we climb up by car along a dirt road (5km) until we reach the Sibilla Refuge (1,540m asl).
From here, we start on foot and start to climb along a steep slope until we reach the ridge near the summit of Monte Zampa (1,791m asl).
The hike continues at a gentler pace on a spectacular ridge with exceptional views in all directions, from the sea to the highest peak in the Apennines, the Corno Grande; to then reach the “Crown of Sibyl", a small rocky outcrop after which we face the final ascent up to 2173m to the summit.
The return trip can be made by the same route or through a comfortable dirt track along the southern mountain slope.
